What we deal with...

The main research interests of our group are bioinformatic themes. The use of new high-throughput technologies in medicine and molecular biology comes along with the need of new approaches for analyzing huge datasets. The results of a long development in computer science offer numerous of well-known and efficient methods to deal with large amount of data. We use the techniques of Data Mining and Pattern Recognition to analyse biological data.

Besides this, the group leader from time to time follows Ron Fagin's recommendation "I feel that theoretical computer scientists should devote a constant fraction of their lives to trying to resolve the P vs. NP question.", despite Donald Knuth's judgement "It (P vs. NP) will be solved by either 2048 or 4096.".
