Theses

Below is a list of theses I supervised and reviewed. My goal is to bring students in during their thesis close to state-of-the-art research topics, such that we can write a publication based on the thesis. Usually, I did the main supervision and wrote the secondary reviews for the listed theses. Theses marked with (*) were supervised by me unofficially, i.e., I did the main supervision, but someone with a "venia legendi" wrote the secondary review. The theses were aiming to achieve a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields (usually Cognitive Science).

  • Exploring CenSurE Features (Maximilian Wenger, B.Sc. Cognitive Science, submitted 10/2010)
    • Maximilian implemented the CenSurE feature extration algorithm in OpenCV. We aim to contribute his implementation to future releases of OpenCV.

  • Advancing Automated Parameter Constraining on Parallel Architectures for Neuroscientific Applications (Niklas Schmücker, B.Sc. Cognitive Science, submitted 10/2010)
    • Niklas wrote his theses about his work at an intership at the Blue Brain Project at EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland.
